I can't give you solutions to all your problems
doubts and fears in life.
But I can listen to you
and together we will search for answers.

nor the future with its story to tell.
But I can be there for you now when you need me.

I can only offer my hand so you can grab it if you fall.
Your fun, wins, successes and happiness are not mine,
still I can enjoy it with you.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make nor to judge.
I can only support, encourage and help you if you ask for it.

away from our friendship, from your values, from me.
I can only keep my fingers crossed, talk to you and wait for you.

I can't give you limits which I set for myself
but I can give you room to change
room to grow, room to be yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking or hurting
but I can cry with you and help you pick up the shards
