The strange dream

Ron Dietvorst

Whilst looking In a mirror with distorted view
she consumed a strange and hot brew
she decided to step inside the mirror
and suddenly the view turned clearer

there was no ground to walk upon
and the curtains were all drawn
it seemed there was no ceiling no sky
only clouds of silver and she wondered why

there was a little stall where you could buy dreams
ten a penny sewed together with seams
she choose a dream about one lost love
she had to seek on the back of a dove

when she flew into the silvery ceiling the spell broke
downwards she crashed in a whirlpool of vermillion smoke
she landed in her own old brass bed and vanished in thin air were her dreams
she opened the velvet curtains and saw the first golden sunbeams.
