Vlinder op mijn schouder
Op goed geluk schoot ik een plaatje

Zomaar even genieten
Zonder woorden een praatje

At home in my own heart

Beneath the waves of sorrow and glee
Beneath all that, I find true me
A peaceful genuine stability

Not based on situations
Whether chaos or sweet relations

Not based on weather or physical health
Not based on lack or acquired wealth

But based on what makes me me
The basis that lasts an eternity

That what is visible in for what I long
Belongs to me inside so strong

It was, and may have gotten lost
on the surface, not under the permafrost

Where my heart lies still and confident
Where my strength is found so competent

For this I turn deep inside
As that is where my treasures hide

A home in my own heart
It is where peace can start

Regardless of what the surface brings
It is from here that wellness springs

From here connected to the Source
I relax and let go of any force

The home in my own heart
Is where my peace does start

My very present me

I don't know who somebody is
I just know how they was

And that is just what I could see
And what I filled in is just me

It just shows my likes and peeves
It's what my minds impression leaves

They have already moved on
And the past already gone

Am I really in the now
Do I even know how

Or am I stuck in future or past
while nothing ever lasts

Change is one thing that is certain
Let's unveil the assumptions curtain

So that I can just be
My very present me

Worth is not in the doing
It is in the being that is me

It is not in what I do
But how I do it, you see

I can put love into something simple
I can leave a message of peace

It isn't because of the limits
That I stop being and that I freeze

I know what is important to me
And I put it in all that I do

Whether it is in typing this poem
Or yet another visit to the loo

I can express myself in words
Or in the thoughts of my mind

Truly we all are worthy
We are all one of a kind

We can not see our thoughts
But we sure feel the energy range

My thoughts can be elevating
And that too can bring change

The atmosphere of the world
Can use some sparkling delight

And I can contribute
Even though I may be out of sight

Like a great speaker once said
be brave and believe in your worth

The door of the cage is open
We are not a caged bird.

For sure we may be limited
in what we are able to do

But not in what we put in it
That matters for me and for you

So thank you for being you
in every aspect of the way

And may we always feel valued
Because worthy we will stay

A lovely summer night in June

It was a night in 1970 ten minutes before midnight
That a baby was on her way to see the light.

The owls flew to the party that the fox threw in her name
To warn them for the storm to come that noone knew to tame

But it is such a lovely Sunday night in June
said the fox to the owls while the mouse sang out of tune

Better hurry inside as little baby is coming soon
And nature wants the world to know so don't become a wet raccoon

And thunder and lighting and rain and storms let them know
This baby in one push flew out 56 years ago

Heavy winds, heavy rainfall, heavy thunder and lightning.
Because that baby was so lovely, not because she was so frightning

Share

When something makes me happy
I can not help but share

I hope it makes you happy
And that it shows I care

Routines (Hour 15)

Routines, not many that are left
Chronic Illness leaves people bereft

Of all they used to be and do
Until people no longer know you

As who they used to know
And will just let you go

It is easier to pretend
That doesn't exist what cannot be mend

Routines almost all are gone
Though zoom has helped save one

Even that one is not always possible to attend
And I do not want to pretend

I do not want to name them by name
That would be a painful game

What was has gone, what is that is
I don't want to focus on what I miss

What is possible now is what I see
A different yet a newer me

Light (Poetry marathon 2026 final)

Light
Stringlight
Sunlight
Moonlight
Street light
Light is what gives sight

The sky at night (Hour 22)

The sky at night shows sparkles bright
Whether fireworks or star

The darker the night sky
The more we see a far

A distant galaxy seems not that far away
When everything sparkles bright while in our bed we lay

The darkest nights can soothe or scare when we at night unwind
Usually not because what's in it but because what's in our mind

Not about pidgeons (Hour 21)

Oh no!!! NOT about pidgeons
Their cooing hurts my brain

And they won't stop their cooing
It drives me insane

I know they can not help it
That it messes up my brain

And energy leaks away
Even from great distance, though they are not to blame

It is not something that I can help
It's the frequency it seems

Some sounds I'm perfectly OK
But some hit me like beams

I can hardly hear them but their cooing vibrates through
I don't know how to stop it and I don't know what to do

It is so harsh to see my energy all leak away
Distraction doesn't help the brain still feels it all the way

So NO, please not pidgeons
Please move further out of reach

I understand you're not to blame
It simply is your speech

Sometimes I wish I could detach the hearing part of me
My energy is so limited and so precious you see.

So pigeons constantly cooing zapping my energy
Could they perhaps be aliens doing it willingly...

I'll leave you with that thought and will try to block it out
I'm sorry for blaming pidgeons but I really could do without

The moth and the two clogs (Hr20)

Moth was sitting in a clog
Yes it is very true indeed

Moth was wondering which to chose
How to win, how to lose

Should it be right or left
Would occupying it be a theft

They had been vacant very long
Moths live in jackets in song

Moth listened but did not care
Moth decided it could live anywhere

We awake? (Hour 19)

We awake five more times to write from the heart
Are we awake after 19 or did we half way start

Almost there the end in sight
We awake with all our might

Sleep doesn't do us part
Though catnap between is smart

We awake?

A journey back in time (Hour 18)

A journey to my great grandmothers great grandmothers land
A history I knew nothing of and just came to understand

After moving far away to where I always grew and lived
A journey truely wonderful, for health a truly gift

I didn't know we came from here, per coincidence I came
A journey to the mothers of my mothers mother mother mothers fame

A journey back in time,
and now it's also mine
